Transnational Expertise. Multicultural Empathy
Discover the story behind Sakuraba Law and our mission to serve the Brazilian community in Canada.
About Us
Moving to a new country, protecting your family abroad, or expanding your business internationally are some of the biggest projects of your life. We understand that the Canadian legal system can feel cold, complex, and intimidating when English is not your first language or when the rules of the game are completely different from those you grew up with.
At Sakuraba Law, we break the barrier of corporate coldness. Our mission is to offer the technical excellence of a major Canadian law firm, with the empathy, clarity, and human warmth you expect from a trusted legal partner.
Legal representation that understands your journey (because we lived it)
Our law firm was founded from lived immigrant experience. We have crossed the same borders, faced the same bureaucracy, and felt the same uncertainty and anxiety. That is why we never treat your case as just another file number.
We understand how important it is to bring your parents closer to you, to protect the assets you have built in two different countries, and to secure a rock-solid commercial contract. We are immigrants helping immigrants and global citizens build safe, lasting roots.
The Brazil–Canada Legal Bridge (Our Authority)
What makes us unique is our command of two completely different legal systems. Law is not universal: Brazil operates under
Civil Law,
while Ontario operates under
Common Law.
A misinterpretation between these two systems can be extremely costly.
We hold dual licensing and recognized authority in both jurisdictions:
Law Society of Ontario (LSO):
Full license to practice law in the province of Ontario, Canada.Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil (OAB):
License and deep knowledge of the Brazilian legal and bureaucratic systems.
This means that, whether you need strategic immigration planning, a cross-border divorce with assets in Brazil, or help structuring your company in Toronto, we see the entire board. No surprises. No hidden risks.
Our Core Pillars
Absolute Technical Security:
Decisions guided by law, data, and risk mitigation. If something is not viable, we will tell you the hard truth clearly and directly.Welcoming Service in Your Language:
The comfort of discussing your family’s or business’s future in Brazilian Portuguese or in clear, accessible English (Plain Language).Total Predictability:
Transparent processes, agile communication, and clarity on timelines and costs from the very first handshake.
